RABBINICAL SCHOOL UPDATE

The first round of acceptance letters has been mailed, and the second round of applications to Hebrew Collee's new Rabbinical School has begun, with a June 1 deadline. As the Office of Admissions fields daily calls about the transdenominational program, prospective rabbinical students chat in the hallways, waiting their turn for admissions interviews. Meanwhile, several key appointments have enhanced the Rabbinical School's faculty and staff. In March, President Gordis and Dean Arthur Green announced that Dr. Jonah Steinberg, former Director of the Program in Rabbinic Literature and Civilization at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, will serve as Assistant Professor of Rabbinics and Director of Talmudic Studies; and Rabbi Carol Glass, who has mentored Reform rabbinical students at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem, will be Dean of Students.
