Religious Educators and Academics Visit the US, Gather at HC

Educators Gather
Ben Harmon
Members of the Hebrew College faculty and staff met with imams, religious educators and academics from India and Bangladesh who were visiting the United States under the auspices of the U.S. State Department on Friday, July 7. The meeting, which began with a welcome by President David Gordis, was devoted to a discussion of Islamic-Jewish relations, and ways and means of providing both groups with a better understanding of each other. Upon the discussion's close, the group stated it was the most meaningful event they had experienced during their stay in the United States. Hebrew College representatives present included Robert Leikind, David Gordis, Barry Mesch, Allen Katzoff, Or Rose, Harvey Shapiro and Sandy Seltzer. All were invited to visit India and Bangladesh in the future.
