Prozdor's travel options for Jewish teenswhich already number trips to London, Eastern Europe, Montreal and Haifanow include a tour of Jewish Spain as well. The winter break trip, December 2229, is open to all Prozdor students in grades 912.
"Our trip to Spain will explore the history and culture of the Sephardic Jew," says Nina Shatz, director of nonformal education at Prozdor. "We will also meet other Jewish teens who live in Spain, a key element of this nonformal educational experience."
These native teens will guide Prozdor travelers on tours through Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Cordoba and Granada. Highlights include a walking tour of Toledo's Jewish Quarter, Barrio Santa Cruz (the old Jewish Quarter), Samuel Levy Street and the Transito Synagogue, the Museum of Sephardi Jewish Culture and El Greco House, the Giralda Tower, and a visit to the Alhambra with views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
