Michal Blech was named Public Services Librarian in October. Previously a librarian at the Hewitt School, an independent girls' school in New York City, she holds an MLS from Simmons College and a BFA from the University of Michigan.
The Department of Marketing and Communications received a Gold 2004 case Communications Award in November for the brochure promoting CAJL's
Going to Extremes lecture series last March. District 1 of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) annually confers these regional awards to recognize excellence in college and university publications. Gold is the highest level of recognition.
Robin MacDonald joined Hebrew College as Development Assistant in October. Most recently she taught writing classes in Fort Myers, Fla., at Edison Community College, Academy High School and Three Oaks Middle School. MacDonald has also held administrative positions in real estate and law offices. She is now completing an MA from the University of South Florida, where she earlier earned a BA.
Tal Oded joined the NETA staff as Research Assistant in November. She was previously a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh, where she completed her MSc. Oded holds an MBA from Bar-Ilan University and a BA from the University of Haifa.
Dr. Judith Rosenbaum and
Or N. Rose were married in Canaan, N.Y., on November 7. Rose is Bet Midrash Instructor at the College's Rabbinical School. Rosenbaum, director of education at the Jewish Women's Archive in Brookline, Mass., teaches Jewish women's studies in the Adult Learning Collaborativea program of Hebrew College and CJP.
Ariella Shaffer was appointed as a full-time Library Assistant in November after working part-time for Hebrew College in the summer. Previously, she held a work-study position in the Circulation Department at Brandeis University's Goldfarb Library. Shaffer graduated from Brandeis with a BA last May.
