Meet in Palm Beach

Friends of Hebrew College gathered recently at the Palm Beach home of Gilda and Alfred Slifka to hear President David Gordis speak about the College's mission and upcoming plans for the new Rabbinical School and doctoral program in Jewish education.

Present were several members of the Palm Beach Me'ah class who will receive their certificates at the College's 78th Commencement Exercises on June 1. The Palm Beach Me'ah class was initiated by Gilda Slifka four years ago.

A festive dinner was held to dedicate the Katz Student Lounge, funded through the generosity of Frances Katz and Abraham (Al) Katz z'l, in memory of Herbert L. Berman, former Board Chair.

Members of Hebrew College's President's Circle attended a dinner followed by "Leaps of Reason: Linking Rabbinic Law to Biblical Text," a lecture sponsored by the Center for Adult Jewish Learning, featuring Dr. Jay Harris, Harry Wolfson Professor of Jewish Studies, Harvard University, and Me'ah faculty member.
